Senior students Louisa, Kirsten, Katherine and Joan joined Mrs Feehan last week at an Autumn Breakfast on current Australian politics and economics.
The discussion panel consisted of Mr Arthur Sinodinos – Senator for NSW, Professor Judith Sloan – Columnist for The Australian newspaper, Dr Ziggy Switkowski – Chancellor of RMIT University and Mr Josh Frydenberg – Federal Member for Kooyong.
Pictured above with Josh Frydenberg and the Hon Kevin Andrews MP (Member for Menzies and the shadow minister for families, housing & human services), the girls thoroughly enjoyed the morning.
Congratulations to our 11 Year Old Freestyle Relay Team who swam magnificently to place third in the Zone Swimming Championships on Friday.
Victoria, Elisabeth, Nikki and Louise have been training very hard and it was great to see their hard work pay off.
Our Year 5s have been busy in the Science Labs determining the pH of household chemicals. Judging by the photos, they are enjoying each and every minute of it.
Next lesson, they will be evaluating the ‘Dove’ soap advertisement, which claims that Dove soaps have a natural pH. They will also be looking at other leading soaps too. What will the results be? Stay tuned to find out.
Congratulations to Chloe in Year 7 who was recently crowned the Under 13 National Badminton Champion.
Chloe has been playing the sport for four years and also trains four times a week.
The National competition took place at Altona and Chloe admits that she didn’t expect to win the competition.
“The girl that I played actually beat me in the team competition the day before, so I honestly thought that she would win.”
“On the day of the singles competition, everything just seemed to go my way and I was very happy and excited that I eventually won.”
Congratulations Chloe – a terrific effort.
Congratulations to all girls who competed in Tuesday’s Cross Country Carnival at Shenley Reserve. Despite the cooler conditions and light rain, all girls from Years 4-12 truly got in to the spirit by wearing their brightest colours.
House Captains supplied the lollies and our lovely Friends’ of Sport Group provided refreshments.
Being active is what it’s all about. So regardless of if girls ran, walked, skipped or hopped, at least they were out their having fun!
